A Mission Born from Personal Experience and Purpose

Mack Counseling’s work with nonprofit organizations and rare disease communities began with a deeply personal journey. Founder and CEO Kevin Mack was inspired to serve this sector after his son, Kevin Jr., was diagnosed at age 13 with Myasthenia Gravis (MG)—a rare neurological condition that affects communication between the brain and muscles.

At the time, Kevin Jr. was a thriving young athlete and a three-sport all-star. After experiencing unexplained fatigue and weakness and undergoing numerous medical visits, the diagnosis of MG brought both clarity and a profound shift in perspective for the Mack family. What began as a challenging chapter quickly became a calling: to support others navigating the emotional and practical realities of living with rare diseases.

That experience ignited a passion to ensure that individuals and families facing similar challenges never feel alone. Today, Mack Counseling proudly partners with nonprofit organizations and rare disease communities to provide compassionate emotional support through virtual counseling services.

In addition to direct support, Mack Counseling provides monthly and quarterly insights and data that help nonprofit partners better understand the needs of their communities. These insights strengthen programming, improve outreach, and deepen connections between organizations and the people they serve.

Our team also delivers professional trainings for nonprofit organizations, equipping staff and leaders with tools to address critical challenges such as burnout prevention, emotional resilience, and sustainable community care.

What began as a family’s journey through uncertainty has grown into a mission-driven commitment: to bring hope, understanding, and meaningful support to individuals, families, and organizations working in the rare disease and nonprofit space.
